Prime Capital rolls out new broker portal

Non-bank lender Prime Capital has launched a new portal to allow brokers to monitor their loan applications in real time.

Available on desktop and mobile, the portal allows brokers to track their applications with the commercial lender as well as upload supporting documents and access product guides and calculators.

Brokers can also submit new deals through Prime Approve, the lender’s online application platform, and follow their progress from submission through to settlement.

Prime Capital chief executive Steve Sampson said the portal was designed to make the act of submitting deals with the lender more streamlined.

“The Broker Portal gives brokers a clear view of their applications, along with the resources and support they need to keep deals moving, wherever they are working,” he said.

Sampson added that the portal was not going to replace the existing support network Prime Capital had developed.

“Technology should make the process simpler, but strong broker relationships remain central to our business,” he said.

“Our BDMs remain available to workshop deals and provide support. The portal gives brokers another way to access information and take action when it suits them.”

Brokers can log in using their email address and secure a one-time code sent to their inbox, without needing a password.

The portal builds on Prime Capital’s investment in Prime Approve, extending its digital services beyond application submission and across the life of a deal.

Prime Capital said it had more than 29 years of experience in the broker channel, more than $4 billion in settled loans and zero losses.

Broader technology shift

Prime Capital's technology investment comes as lenders, aggregators and brokerages continue to roll out new digital tools.

Most recently, fellow non-bank First Federal launched its own broker portal with a similar suite of tools.

Shortly before, People First Bank launched a new digital banking platform as it continues integrating the technology systems inherited from the merger of Heritage Bank and People’s Choice.

Yellow Brick Road has also launched Nectaria, a multi-agent artificial intelligence platform designed to support brokers throughout the lending process, including client call transcription, policy searches, compliance and follow-up tasks.

Meanwhile, fintech lender Bridgit recently launched a real-time scenario calculator within its broker portal, allowing brokers to run lending scenarios, check policy and pricing, and progress deals to application.

Brokerage Finspo has also introduced an AI-powered identity verification tool that extracts information from identification documents and pre-populates application fields, with further automation planned for bank statements, assets and liabilities.

In banking, many majors and second-tier lenders have stepped up their technology investment, although some research has questioned how prepared their data systems are for further development.
