Effective from 26 August, the lender has increased the maximum LVR for Prime Full Doc and Alt Doc loans up to $5 million from 75 per cent to 80 per cent.
It has also expanded its valuation policy to allow automated valuation models (AVMs) for Category 1 properties up to 80 per cent LVR and $2 million, while the maximum loan size for Category 3 locations has doubled from $500,000 to $1 million.
Broader lending policy
The update also includes changes across Residential, Vacant Land, Bridging, Expat, and Commercial SMSF lending, as well as income verification and credit policy.
MA Money head of lending Stephen Begnell said the changes were designed to give brokers greater flexibility while maintaining a considered approach to credit.
“We’ve looked closely at where we can make meaningful changes to policy while maintaining a responsible and considered approach to credit,” Begnell said.
“The result is a broad set of updates that will allow us to consider more scenarios and give brokers more options when a deal doesn’t fit neatly within traditional lending parameters.”
The changes come as MA Money continues to grow. MA Financial’s latest half-year results showed MA Money’s loan book reached $7.5 billion at 30 June 2026, up 127 per cent compared with the first half of 2025, and it has since surpassed $8 billion.
MA Money national sales manager Tim Lemon said the growth had enabled the lender to continue investing in its products, policy, and broker support.
“Our growth has given us the scale to continue investing in our products, policy and the support we provide to brokers,” Lemon said.
“We’re seeing more brokers turn to MA Money across an increasingly diverse mix of scenarios, and it’s important that our policy continues to evolve with them.
“These changes are about giving brokers greater scope to find the right solution for their clients, while continuing to deliver the service and credit approach they expect from MA Money.”
