Cynario connects policy, product and serviceability into 1 workflow

AI fintech Cynario has brought more than 45 lender calculators under one roof with the launch of a new tool that connects policy research, product comparisons and serviceability assessments.

Named Maximum Borrowing, the platform combines AI-powered policy research with live open banking data to help brokers assess a client’s borrowing capacity across multiple lenders without repeatedly entering the same information.

The tool is designed to streamline the assessment process, giving brokers more time to compare lending options and identify products suited to clients’ circumstances.

How does it work?

Maximum Borrowing brings together three stages of the broking process.

First, brokers can use Cynario’s AI policy research agent, Charli, to find answers across more than 40 residential lenders.

The platform then uses Cynario Match to match policy answers with available lender products, features and current rates, alongside live open banking data.

From there, brokers can push lenders that fit a client’s circumstances into Maximum Borrowing, where the platform runs the scenario through more than 45 lender serviceability calculators, allowing brokers to compare borrowing capacity across multiple lenders.

The results can be downloaded in a capacity report, showing how different lenders assess the client’s financial position.

Tools to support borrowing assessments

Maximum Borrowing also includes eight tools designed to help brokers assess different aspects of borrowing capacity.

These include a year-to-date income calculator, a rate change slider, a land tax estimator, a credit card repayment conversion tool, an 80 per cent LVR rate lock and a family guarantor filter.

The platform also provides pre-filled lender calculator downloads and links, alongside a capacity report comparing lender results against the client’s financial position.

Supporting best interests duty

With the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC) audit of best interests duty (BID) still fresh, Cynario CEO and co-founder Michael Richardson said the platform could help brokers present a wider range of lending options to clients.

“When policy, product and serviceability sit in one connected workflow, a broker can examine more options, in more depth, and show their working. That is better for the client and it is stronger evidence of acting in their best interests,” he said.

“As BID comes into sharper focus for the industry, brokers are being asked to show how they reached a recommendation, not only what it was.

“Cynario is designed to help brokers do that. It analyses and compares more lenders, policies and products than a manual process realistically allows, and it records the reasoning in policy and serviceability reports the broker can keep on file.”

A growing AI offering

Maximum Borrowing is the latest addition to Cynario’s product suite, following a string of launches over the past 17 months.

The fintech launched in May 2025 with its AI policy specialist, Charli, before expanding into tools for lenders and aggregators.

It then launched Alex, an AI-powered marketing assistant designed to help mortgage brokers create, distribute and manage digital content across multiple channels.

Cynario later struck a deal with CRM platform Salestrekker to integrate its policy AI into the new Salestrekker 2.0 platform, allowing brokers to access lender policy research without leaving a client file.

After being named Innovator of the Year – Broker Technology Platform at Broker Daily’s Broker Innovation Awards, Cynario added two further tools focused on policy research and marketing automation.

First was Cynario Agentic, which analyses real-time lender policy data to help brokers navigate lending requirements. The company said the tool can reason across more than 38 lenders simultaneously, identifying potential policy conflicts, exceptions and lending scenarios before delivering guidance across desktop, mobile and email.

Cynario also expanded its marketing offering with Content Automation, a feature built into Alex that allows brokers to create, personalise, schedule and automatically publish content up to three months in advance.

The feature supports five platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business Profile and WordPress.

Cynario then launched Cynario Reviews, allowing brokers to send clients a link through the platform to submit either a written review or a short voice message.

Most recently, Cynario launched Polli, a tool for lenders that compares policies in real time to identify gaps, assess how unclear criteria could affect deal volumes and explore opportunities to strengthen their competitive position.
