Money Quest Group appoints NSW/ACT state relationship manager

Peter Nguyen has joined the boutique aggregator, bringing more than 20 years’ experience across the mortgage and banking sectors to the role.

Money Quest Group has appointed Peter Nguyen as its NSW/ACT state relationship manager, with the new hire formally joining the boutique aggregator on Monday (28 September).

Nguyen brings more than 20 years’ experience working in various roles across the mortgage and banking sectors to the position.

This includes a stint as regional sales manager at major brokerage brand Aussie.

He has also held roles at non-majors Bankwest and Suncorp.

Most recently, Nguyen was head of broker partnerships at aggregator Atlas Lending Group.

Money Quest noted Nguyen has been “instrumental” in developing broker businesses and helping new-to-industry brokers find their feet.

Reflecting on his experience as a BDM, Nguyen said he had enjoyed building relationships across the industry.

“I enjoyed [working as a BDM]. I made lots of friendships and relationships with colleagues, franchisees and brokers. I still keep in contact with them regularly,” he said.

He also provided advice for brokers who’ve only recently joined the profession.

“Look at those closest to you to kick-start your support and referral networks,” he said.

“The industry is great at creating learning and development opportunities to help you become proficient in lending, but building referral networks should be your number one priority and your nearest and dearest is the best place to start.”

Evolution of offering

The new appointment marks the latest development in what has been a busy 12 months for the boutique aggregator, which has added several lenders to its panel, including private lenders Solomons Capital and Aquamore, as well as MA Money.

In April, Money Quest Group also unveiled MQG Lending, a new white-label lending division it said was established to broaden funding options and expand its in-house product offering.

This would be followed with the August introduction of ProtectQ, a referral hub covering risk and general insurance available through MQG Lending.

At the time, Money Quest Group general manager of business development Adrian Fisher said the group was committed to helping its members build “stronger, more valuable businesses” by supporting clients through more of their financial journey.

“By bringing trusted specialist partners together in one referral hub, we are giving members practical ways to deepen client relationships, improve retention and diversify revenue, while helping clients protect the people, property and businesses they have worked hard to build,” he said.
