Bluestone Home Loans made a slew of changes to its business development (BDM), business support (BSM) and credit teams as part of a continued commitment to the broker channel.
The staffing changes include:
- Two new BDMs in South Australia – Rochelle Melino and Lauren McClure.
- Promotion in NSW – Matt Lawrence promoted from BSM to BDM.
- New Queensland BDM – Nataya Keim.
- Four new business support managers nationally.
- Three new underwriters to further strengthen service and turnaround times for brokers.
Bluestone’s chief commercial officer, Tony MacRae, said the company’s BDMs, BSMs and underwriters are “the heart of the broker experience”. The expansion of these teams provides an extra layer of broker support.
“These appointments mean brokers can expect more personalised support and direct access to people who understand their clients’ needs,” he said.
“By investing in both our front-line broker support and the credit teams behind them, we’re making sure brokers have the depth of expertise and responsiveness they need to succeed in today’s market.
“From first conversations and working scenarios with a BDM through to assessment with our underwriting team, brokers will see the benefit of these appointments at every stage of the process,” MacRae added.
Broker support is especially crucial at a lender like Bluestone, which deals with the less-traditional forms of lending, including self-employed and self-managed super funds.
These more convoluted and hands-on forms of lending can require additional assistance. Having a strong support network is imperative for a lender like Bluestone.
The appointments come off the back of a recent promotion at the company.
Following the RBA cash rate cut of 25 bps, Bluestone announced a limited time extra 0.25 per cent off its interest rates for new applications on all products from 13 August to 16 September.
“We’ve seen fantastic engagement with our extra 0.25 per cent p.a. offer. These team changes, combined with the offer, signal the strength and momentum of our business and our ongoing commitment to brokers,” MacRae said.
