Non-bank lender Pallas Capital has announced the appointments of two senior origination executives as part of a move to meet growing demand for alternative funding solutions in Western Australia’s commercial real estate market.
Phil Anderton joins the specialist non-bank lender as director – origination, Western Australia, alongside Michael Glen, who takes on the role of associate director – origination, Western Australia.
Together, they bring more than three decades of experience in property finance, having funded over $2 billion in transactions in commercial real estate combined.
Anderton has extensive experience in commercial real estate, having most recently worked at Commonwealth Bank (CBA) as a director in the major client group (property finance).
At the major bank, he managed a substantial portfolio across private, corporate, and institutional clients, according to Pallas Capital.
Glen also joins from Commonwealth Bank (CBA), where he worked in the Perth business banking division, originating, structuring, and executing commercial real estate transactions across retail, office, industrial, residential, and mixed-use developments.
The executives will partner with brokers, investors, and developers to provide strategic investment finance options and early-stage funding, including land acquisition, pre-development sites, residual stock, and asset repositioning.
Anderton said joining the lender during this period of growth in Western Australia presented a great opportunity to help shape the region’s future.
“I’m focused on leveraging my extensive experience financing major construction projects and large investment portfolios to strengthen our presence here,” he said.
“My goal is to support developers and investors access the right financial solutions so they can deliver projects that not only succeed commercially but also contribute to the long-term growth of WA’s property market.”
Glen also said he was eager to bring his expertise to the role.
“My long-standing relationships with brokers, investors, and developers provides me with a deep understanding of their funding requirements,” he said.
“By delivering fast, flexible, and strategic solutions, I look forward to helping investors grow their portfolios and achieve their investment outcomes, while enabling developers to capitalise on development opportunities and commence projects with reduced funding hurdles.”
