CoreLogic poaches ex-ANZ head

The property research group has announced the appointment of a former ANZ head as its new general manager of banking and finance.

CoreLogic has announced the appointment of Milena Malev, the former head of general insurance business at ANZ, as its new general manager of banking and finance solutions Australasia.

Ms Malev spent over 10 years at ANZ in various senior roles, including as head of retirement solutions, senior manager portfolio strategy - lender’s mortgage insurance, and senior manager mortgages credit acquisition - secured lending risk.

She has also previously held senior roles at Westpac Group and Veda Advantage (Equifax).

In her new role with CoreLogic, Ms Malev will oversee all aspects of the property research group’s banking and finance product and solutions development, and assist in growing the footprint in Australia and New Zealand through client support.

Additionally, she will focus on supporting account teams and providing clients with the capabilities and solutions, including solutions technology, digital and data services, in order to navigate them through the challenges of transformation within the sector. 

Commenting on her appointment, the new GM of banking and finance solutions Australasia noted the importance of “innovative solutions” to assist clients in the ever-changing business and finance space.

“We have seen an immense transformation across banking in recent years,” Ms Malev said.

“Having spent more than 20 years at the forefront of this change, I look forward to bringing new perspectives to my immediate role and the broader CoreLogic teams to help provide differentiating solutions to clients.”

James Vaughan, CoreLogic’s general manager, industry solutions, said he was “extremely pleased” to have Ms Malev join the team, commenting on her extensive experience in the sector.

“Her experience in helping banks achieve their goals through serving their customers with digital value, on-boarding appropriately with data-driven decisioning tools and insights-driven portfolio management is a superb fit with our customers’ needs,” Mr Vaughan said.

He continued: “There’s unprecedented change in the mortgage market to digitise customer, broker and lender experiences while dealing with increased competition and regulatory overhead.
